Rebekah Dewald is a multidisciplinary filmmaker with a passion for bringing underrepresented voices to the forefront of her work by exploring the human political connection and the power of art. Prior to working in film she was a mixed media painter and photographer. Her illustrations were published by HarperCollins for She Who Dwells Within: Feminist Vision of a Renewed Judaism. As a queer director, writer, and producer, she has created a range of innovative films, installations, and videos that challenge societal norms and explore the complexities of the human experience. Working in the partnership of The Ladies Dewald, Rebekah has created a multitude of projects from feature films Let The Record Show and External Living to video installations including Who Loves You?, Is and The (red) Ribbon Project. 

 

Her films and video works have been presented in the United States and Europe. Rebekah’s installation work has been commissioned by galleries in NYC and LA, including La MaMa (NYC) and Future Tongue (LA). Her award-winning feature documentary Let the Record Show screened at numerous museums and festivals including Hallwalls and Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art. It continues to serve as an educational resource in universities in the United States and England.

Demetrëa Dewald is a Los Angeles-based film and video artist. Her work focuses on the human condition through a queer lens. Her recent work has explored genderless storytelling and screenwriting, breaking down the gender tropes that continue to dominate the film industry. Working in the partnership of The Ladies Dewald, Demetrea has created a multitude of projects from feature films Let The Record Show and External Living to video installations including Who Loves you?, Is and The (red) Ribbon Project. 
 
Demetrea’s work has been recognized with a number of awards and grants, including an Art Matters Foundation Grant and the Santa Fe Film Festival's Best Documentary Audience Select Award for Let The Record Show. Her work has been featured in festivals, museums, and universities around the world, and she has served as a mentor and teacher for emerging filmmakers through programs such as The Different Women Network.
