Why I Cut
I found my way into editing through an unexpected journey. I always apprciated editing and had the great honor of being mentored by the brilliant Brian A. Kates(Shortbus, Succession, All the Beauty and All the Blood Shed), but never saw myself as an editor. After writing & directing two feature films, both of which I reluctantly edited myself, I discovered the profound impact editing has on shaping the final story. It was a beautiful realization—editing is where all the pieces come together in harmony. Editing is storytelling and I am a storyteller, the pieces fell into place. This skill has allowed me to collaborate with visionary directors and creators, helping bring their stories to life. For a cinephile like myself, it’s a dream career. Every project I’ve worked on has deepened my understanding of the art of storytelling through the Final Cut, and I’m excited to see where the next chapters take me.
